Monica Walmsley is the Founder and Director of Connected People, Newcastle’s first and only niche recruitment agency specialising in legal and accounting recruitment. With close to two decades of experience in recruitment and an MBA (Human Resources) from the University of Newcastle, Monica has built a reputation as one of the region’s most trusted voices in talent acquisition.
Since her early 30s, Monica has been an entrepreneur, successfully owning and growing her own businesses. This hands-on experience gives her a unique perspective on leadership, culture, and the challenges employers face when building and retaining high-performing teams.
Starting her recruitment career in 2005, Monica has partnered with leading law firms, accounting practices, and corporate organisations across Newcastle, Maitland, Sydney, Canberra and beyond. She is known for her people-first approach, strong local networks, and ability to deliver values-aligned talent that makes a lasting impact.
